EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVE SPIRIT
Imagine yourself immersed in a place where you can live photography for an entire week, virtually free from the distractions of the outside world. Imagine indulging yourself in an environment where the focus is on you and your photography, with all the freedom to play, experiment, and be adventuresome. The workshop experience can provide that opportunity through a variety of programs designed to advance skills, provide inspiration, explore new ideas, and deal with the creative process of photography. Whether you’re interested in developing your own visual style or expanding your knowledge of craft, attending a workshop may turn out to be one of the best investments you make towards enriching your visual life.

WORKSHOP CONTENT
The aim of the workshop is to offer an intensive learning experience providing participants with a balance of instructional slide lectures, (emphasizing composition and the principles of design), daily field trips with the instructor, and group evaluation. Film is processed daily to facilitate immediate feedback the following day. Each participant will receive a personal assignment on Friday for presentation to the group on Sunday. On the final morning there will be a program featuring the students’ best slides made during the week.

The emphasis is on creating more dynamic photographs by using the visual elements of line, shape, texture and perspective in composition. This is a workshop in vision and is for anyone interested in photography, from novice to experienced amateur or professional. As instructor, my greatest challenge is to help participants see the world in new, active and deeply meaningful ways. You are invited to share in a photographic experience, which frees the creative spirit and renews one’s passion for photography. Common to all workshop programs is the emphasis on seeing and the philosophy of learning by doing. To ensure a quality experience, enrollment is limited to 8 participants for this workshop.

A portion of the workshop will be devoted to the theme ‘Poetic Expression’ with an emphasis on creating photographs, which evoke and stimulate our imagination. In this workshop there are no rules, only possibilities. We’ll explore the tools and techniques to push back the boundaries of the medium. Creating romantic photographs out of our childhood dreams and memories. The use of techniques such as double exposures, sandwiching images together, movement, multiple exposures, film selection, lenses, and filters/diffusion materials will be examined.
